The Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers announced on Wednesday the implementation of electronic governance during the current year, while the government confirmed its intention to finance various service projects and completed by the end of 2017.

The Secretary-General of the Council, Mahdi Alallak, in a press conference, on the sidelines of the meeting held by the Committee on e-governance, "The Secretariat will begin the implementation of the transition to electronic governance, whether between its departments or the main ministries, to be connected electronically," expressing "hope to achieve 80 percent of these steps this year. "


"The E-Governance Committee held a meeting to study its latest development of infrastructure for the gradual transition to electronic governance," Al-Alak said.

For his part, said a member of the Committee, Amir al-Bayati, "The project is one of the sovereign projects and the infrastructure is in the Ministry of Communications," noting that "the ministry began linking the sites of the Secretariat General as a first stage, while linking the centers of ministries and their configurations in Baghdad and the provinces as stage a second".

"The project needs to educate employees and citizens, because it provides service to the citizen, and will turn the deal with the government through the gates of the state."

On the other hand, the government confirmed the financing of various service projects and completion by the end of the year 2017.

A statement issued by the Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers, received by the "morning", that "the Secretary-General of the Council, chaired a deliberative meeting, including the parties responsible for the implementation of projects of clean water and sewage networks, and operations of clothing for Baghdad and the provinces, in 2017.

"The attendees presented the financial plans for their enterprises' projects in the service aspects, in which the government is able to secure the necessary funds for its resumption and completion by the end of the current year, pursuant to the guidance of the Prime Minister, Haider al-Abadi."

The Secretary-General, according to the statement, "the need to proceed with projects that serve large population groups with access to reasonable rates of achievement," noting "the possibility of securing the financing of some of them by loans granted to Iraq and as permitted by the contracts of the parties."
