Jubouri to the Congress delegation: They are confident that the settlement will restore the Iraqi situation to normal

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraqi Prime Minister Salim al-Jubouri said on Sunday that Iraq was confident that the settlement was necessary to restore the situation to normal, while stressing the need to expedite the return of the displaced to their homes.

"Iraq has made great sacrifices in its fight against terrorism and is defending global security and peace," Jubouri said in a statement on the sidelines of a meeting with a US Congress delegation.

"Iraq needs to continue military and humanitarian support," Jubouri said, stressing that "the need to accelerate the return of displaced people to their homes and the creation of living conditions appropriate to them."




"We are confident that the settlement will restore the Iraqi situation to normal," Jubouri said.




The Speaker of the Parliament, Salim Jubouri, said earlier that the chances of success of the political settlement is "significant", pointing to the solidarity of all, while stressing the need to involve the people of liberated areas in the protection of terrorism.
