Governor of the Central Bank: Iraq made great efforts to get out of the gray area
The Central Bank of Iraq is waiting for Iraq to complete its studies on projects in order to provide funding, pointing out that Iraq has made great efforts to get out of the gray area in the classification of the recent financial labor organization.
"The World Bank is waiting for Iraq to complete its studies on projects in order to provide funding," al-Aalak said in a statement read by the Economist News. "The 9 million dollar grant for gas extraction is part of a project support plan for the country."
"Iraq has made great efforts to get out of the gray area in the classification of the last financial labor organization," he said, noting that the World Bank imposed conditions on the banks of Iraq to fight (money laundering).
The governor of the Central Bank, "Iraq was able, in coordination with the US authorities to prosecute hundreds of financial transactions that are subject to suspicion of terrorism."
Both the World Bank and the IMF are implementing a review program to improve the performance of the Iraqi economy, allowing Baghdad to obtain billions of dollars in loans from financial institutions and donor countries to address the liquidity crisis caused by low oil prices and the requirements of a war.
