The governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Ali Mohsen Alalak, government and private banks to activate mobile banking in the country, stressing that the infrastructure of the Central Bank is ready to launch this project.


The activities of the conference of banking technologies started at the Babylon Hotel in the center of Baghdad with the participation of 30 companies from 7 Arab and foreign countries.
The correspondent of the Journal, which attended the conference, said that "the work of the conference of banking technologies started in the center of the capital Baghdad with the participation of 30 companies from 7 countries."


He pointed out that "the large economic figures attended the conference, including the Governor of the Central Bank Ali Alalak and financial adviser to the Prime Minister appearance Mohammed Saleh And the Chairman of the Baghdad Investment Commission in addition to foreign and Arab delegations.


The governor of the Central Bank Ali Alaq, "The mobile banking will shorten the many problems on the citizen instead of standing in long queues to complete paper transactions .. And resort to electronic transactions shorten the time and cost of transport and effort to complete transactions and speed and large and less cost, which is the basis governing the relationship between Banks and the public. "


"The Central Bank has infrastructure capable of absorbing this project, as well as systems in the world to accommodate technological developments, and we have no problem in understanding these developments," Al-Alak said.


"What we are looking forward to is that these investments reduce paper transactions and replace them with electronic transactions in order to reach the level of mobile banking services, which should be all public and private banks have plans capable of achieving such a project."


He pointed out that "the Central Bank has begun important steps, especially the distribution of salaries of state employees through banks and banking offices, which represents the spark of an important start in this recruitment is a major exam for the banking sector between the public and the bank and the relationship should be transparent and everyone who deals with the banking sector Development and progress and easy access to what he wants without any routine and the cost of withdrawing salaries or delays in transactions.


Al-Alak called on all banks to interact with what is advanced for banking and to promote hard work to compete with international banks.


On the other hand called the President of the Association of Iraqi private banks and Wadih Nuri al-Hanal, technology companies, telecommunications and information providers to cooperate with the banking sector to activate electronic banking services and upgrade the level of global banks.


"The demographic structure in Iraq requires the transition to electronic banks and access to the financial coverage we aspire to," he said. "This conference is the first banking technology conference in Baghdad with the participation of foreign banks."


He added that "banking technology is very important and requires banks to pay attention to the development of their means to enter the world of electronic banking and towards a society free of cash to the banking sectors and move to electronic banks, providing a huge amount of information and remove customers from the risk of theft of cash.


He stressed the development of banks and the continuation of the steps of the Central Bank in support of banks and development in the launch of projects that serve the citizen.


The first day of the conference included the first three sessions to discuss the settlement of salaries of employees in the presence of the appearance of Mohammed Saleh and the Director General of the Payments Department at the Central Bank, Suha Abdul Karim and the Director General of the Department of Information and Communication Technology at the Central Bank Adnan Asaad and managed by the Executive Director of the Association of Private Banks Ali Tariq, For information technology in Iraq, while the last session discussed electronic banking in Iraq.


The Association of Private Banks, announced earlier, the launch of the Conference of Banking Technologies in the beginning of May with the participation of 30 foreign and Arab and local companies from seven countries, stressing that the purpose of the conference is to inform the Iraqi government and private banks on the services provided by companies in addition to stimulate global companies To enter the Iraqi market and supply their products.


The Executive Director of the Association of Private Banks, Ali Tariq, said in a press statement that "the Association of Private Banks organized the Banking Technologies Conference in Baghdad on the sixth and seventh of May with the participation of 30 foreign and Arab and local companies from the countries of Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, UAE, Bahrain, Morocco and Iraq, Central Bank, "adding that" the conference will address the strategy of the Central Bank and the development of banking technologies using modern technology and the balance of payments and the project to settle salaries and infrastructure of banking programs and electronic payment tools modern. "


He added that "the purpose of holding the conference of banking technologies is to inform the Iraqi government and private banks on the services provided by companies in addition to stimulate international companies to enter the Iraqi market and the provision of products."
