Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said he will meet with Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi in New York to discuss the referendum planned for September 25.

"We have a border of 350 kilometers with Iraq, and there are our Turkmen and our partners in religion and their belonging to the Kurdish, Turkmen and Arab races, but if you go to divide Iraq, we can not tell you," Erdogan said at the airport on Sunday before leaving for New York. .

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday went to the United States to attend the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The Turkish presidency said in a statement published on its official website that "President Erdogan will visit New York from 17 to 22 September to participate in the 72nd session of the General Assembly of the United Nations."
