Washington on Thursday confirmed its commitment to continue security, political and economic cooperation with Baghdad within the framework of the Strategic Framework Agreement between the United States and Iraq, while pointing to its support for a united Iraq, democratic, federally and prosperous, including a stable and effective Iraqi Kurdistan region.

"

The statement added that "McGork and Beck, accompanied by US Ambassador to Iraq Douglas Silliaman, met in Baghdad with Prime Minister Haider Abadi, the Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri, and other political figures, religious and security," pointing out that "the delegation also met in Erbil also with the Prime Minister The Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq, Nechirvan Barzani, and Deputy Prime Minister of the province, Qubad Talabani.

He explained that "the meetings focused on ensuring the permanent defeat of Da'ash through the strengthening of security measures on the borders of Iraq with Syria and plans to destroy the remaining sanctuaries on the Syrian side," noting that "the delegation had during his visit, the opportunity to see directly the progress made in To achieve stability in the city of Mosul and the size of the remaining challenges to restore normal life to the second largest city in Iraq. "

"They visited a market reopened in eastern Mosul and toured the areas devastated by an oppressive organization in western Mosul and visiting Mosul University, where the US-funded work continues to remove the risk of explosives," he said.

"The United States and 25 other donor nations of the international coalition have pledged and contributed more than $ 834 million to the UNDP Stabilization Fund to support vital stabilization activities in areas free of authoritarian control," he said.

"It is important that partners implement their commitments to ensure full funding for UNDP's stabilization projects this year," he said.

"Twenty-four partners pledged last month in Kuwait under the auspices of the European Union and the World Bank to provide nearly $ 30 billion for the long-term reconstruction of Iraq," he said.
