BAGHDAD (Reuters) - About 24.5 million Iraqi voters were invited to vote on Saturday to elect a new parliament, whose main task would be to ensure the reconstruction of a country ravaged by three years of war against an oppressive organization.

8. Parliament shall approve the program of the Government and of each Minister separately in a separate vote by an absolute majority.

If the prime minister-designate fails to form a coalition government within 30 days or if the parliament rejects the government proposed by the prime minister-designate, the president must appoint another candidate to form the government within 15 days or a one-time re-assignment.   link
