Kirkuk's governor, Rakan Said al-Jubouri, announced on Monday that the Ministry of Transport would approve the operation of Kirkuk International Airport starting next week for domestic and international flights.

For his part, Hamami said that "the ministry will operate the Kirkuk International Airport during the next two weeks in front of international flights to Turkey, Lebanon and Iran and internal flights with the capital Baghdad and other provinces to ensure the arrival of passengers from Kirkuk."
