The strategic framework is a security agreement between the Government of Iraq and the United States. This agreement includes the definition of "the main provisions and requirements governing the temporary presence of US military forces in Iraq, their activities and their withdrawal from Iraq."

The MP revealed the alliance of Raad al-Mukusi, close to the legislation of a law within the House of Representatives includes the removal of foreign forces from the country and the abolition of the strategic framework agreement with the United States.

Al-Mukassousi said in a press statement that "a large number of deputies have submitted applications with parliamentary signatures to include a draft law to remove foreign forces from the country on the agenda of the Council," noting that "among the paragraphs that we demand the abolition of the Strategic Framework Agreement as well as arming and training with the American side .

For his part, said MP for the alliance Al-Fath Walid Sahlani, the House of Representatives will work to change a number of concepts of strategic agreements concluded with the United States on the supply of arms to the Iraqi military.

Sahlani said in a press statement that "the priorities of the current parliament to activate the file of arming the Iraqi army and the popular crowd and other security forces to protect the security and borders of the country," pointing out that "the parliament will change a number of concepts of strategic agreements concluded between Iraq and the United States of America on the supply of weapons Military equipment, as well as opening up to other countries to conclude military agreements and equip weapons from multiple sources.

"The strategic framework agreement can not be modified for several reasons, the most important of which are the large financial commitments on Iraq represented by the debt and its benefits. This agreement also does not include the training of technicians on the F-16s, Abrams tanks and other American equipment. But also included the agreement that the United States of America should be trained and maintained.

Hanoun added, "Iraq can not get out of this agreement in the near future because there are financial entitlements resulting from it, and the United States has indicated in this regard a while ago, that if the Iraqi government demanded US forces to leave its territory after the end of the war with" Therefore, Iraq must pay the amounts owed by the benefit with the benefits, in addition to the cost of the war in 2003, amounting to trillion and one hundred billion dollars, not to mention that this agreement has tied Iraq to the limit of one hundred and twenty dollars.

The legal expert Amir al-Da'idi pointed out that "under the Constitution and Article 61 / IV, which authorized the House of Representatives by a two-thirds majority of its members ratification of international treaties and conventions and therefore possible to members of the House of Representatives after the sufficient number of members asked to discuss or recommend obliging the government to review the terms of the strategic agreement with the States Or even repealed.

He said al-Da'idi said in a statement to the «Journal News» but "reference to this agreement and its clauses, which are mostly restricted to Iraq and the destruction of sovereignty, especially in the field of armaments and debt owed by the binding Iraq, which was waved by the United States a while ago," noting that the cancellation of this agreement may cause tension in the relationship With the United States and may open doors not now its time in light of the confusion of the formation of the government and the crises here and there, especially since America held the majority of threads in the political process.
