GCC urges Iraq to execution of UN-related resolutions

Manama, Dec 25 (KUNA) - Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Supreme Council on Tuesday urged Iraq to complete executing UN-related resolutions, including maintenance of borders signs with Kuwait in line with UN resolution 833.
The Council, in it's final communique at the conclusion of the 33rd GCC Summt that wrapped up here earlier, also called on iraq to work on identifying remains of prisoners and mission of Kuwait and third-country nationals, return state of Kuwait's national archive and pay compensations for Iraq farmers in implementation of resolution 899.
It also urged the UN and relevent organizations to contribute to helping Iraq honor these international obligations.
Furthermore, the communique reasserted commitment to the sovereignty, independence and territorial unity of Iraq.
Iraq, It added, should build confidence with the neighboring countries on the basis of good neighborliness and non-interference in internal affairs.
The GCC statement called on all parties in Iraq to join hands to achieve national concilliation in a drive to honor aspirations of the Iraqi people and building a country that would be stable and safe.(end) kt KUNA 251515 Dec12NNNN
