Adeeb: The Cabinet is considering merging ministries

BAGHDAD / Center Brief for the Iraqi Media Network (IMN) the head of the coalition of state law Ali al-Adeeb, said Sunday that the Cabinet is considering merging some ministries administratively, noting that the government program does not contradict with the idea of merging ministries.
He explained in a statement to the writer (IMN), that "the government program seeks to merge the ministries and the transfer of powers."
Asserting that "the only problem before merging some ministries are administrative problems, as well as how the allocation of staff to other institutions."
He added that "the government has not set a timetable for the integration of ministries, but left it up to the actual need for that."
The government is moving to reduce the ministries and bodies and government agencies spending to its lowest level, in order to reduce the fiscal deficit in the federal budget size.
