first short letter indicates that it is dated 3/3/15 starting with a greeting from the Central Bank of Iraq. It states that because people stopped dealing with or using the $50 dinar note, and in reference to law #36 of the Central Bank (2004), there will be a change regarding it.


The longer document indicates that because people have stopped using the $50 dinar bill, pursuant to law #36 of 2004, the government is taking the bill out of circulation. All banks and branches need to be informed of this change and the CBI request that the banks don't assess any commissions. Banks can exchange the 50 dinar bill without any commission or changes. This exchange will be done for 2 months beginning 3/1/15 to 4/30/15. After this exchange period ends, this note will no longer exist and will not be accepted or recognized by the Republic of Iraq.
