A mass demonstration in Baghdad led by Muqtada al-Sadr

We reached thousands of followers of the Sadrist movement to the Tahrir Square in central Baghdad, on Friday morning, February 26, to participate in a demonstration against corruption called for by the current leader Muqtada al-Sadr.

Baghdad witnessed tight security consisted cut off roads near the center of the capital's Tahrir Square to protect the demonstration, led by Sadr, who arrived in Baghdad two days ago to discuss with the prime minister on the formation able to meet the needs of the Iraqi government.

It is expected that al-Sadr calls for Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi tomorrow the formation of a government of technocrats rapidly according to a timetable and resolving the crisis with the political process because of the quota system.

The leaders of the Sadrist movement, confirmed that al-Sadr will give the resignations of ministers in the government of his movement to Abadi, in the hope of forming a government of technocrats independents out of the tunnel of the quota system, as it is expected to demand accountability from the chest caused administrative corruption and waste of public money.
