A meeting between President Fu'aa Masum and a number of political leaders began at the presidential headquarters on Wednesday.

A reporter for Alsumaria News, said the meeting called for by President Fuad Masum began shortly before the presidency of the Republic.

The reporter added that the meeting was attended by many political figures, including Vice President Osama Najafi and Nouri al-Maliki.

The results of the parliamentary elections that took place on May 12, 2018 caused a wide debate among the political circles, which called on the House of Representatives to convene an emergency session on 6 June 2018, during which it voted on the third amendment proposal for the Law of the House of Representatives Elections No. 45 of 2013, The manual count and counting of all polling stations and the assignment of nine judges to run the Electoral Commission.

The heads of the Iraqi political blocs are currently meeting to discuss the repercussions of the recent demonstrations and the results of the elections in the presidential headquarters in Baghdad.

A source for «Journal News» that "the heads of political blocs and in the presence of most of them are currently meeting at the headquarters of President Fuad Masum to discuss the election results and the consequences of the political crisis."

He added that "the meeting called by the infallible will discuss the crisis of demonstrations and how to contain them as well as the results of counting and sorting and the formation of the next government."

He called on President Fuad Masum on Tuesday to hold an expanded meeting of leaders of the political blocs to discuss the crisis of demonstrations and the constitutional vacuum after the end of the parliament without ratification of the results of the parliamentary elections.
