The Presidency of the Republic said that the meeting of the leaders of the political blocs in the house of President Fuad Masum approved the "acceptance" of the final results of the parliamentary elections after counting and manual counting, while they indicated that they confirmed their support for the government to achieve the demands of the demonstrators and the emphasis on maintaining security and preventing the acts of "riot and sabotage."

"In view of the urgent need to unify the efforts of all national political forces to progress towards achieving a stable, dignified and prosperous life for our people, and for the need to protect our federal democratic system and the sovereignty, unity and independence of our country," the presidency said in a press statement issued after the meeting. The way to any return to terrorism, and in preparation for moving forward to strengthen national unity and civil peace and provide the vital conditions necessary to complete the construction of state institutions and the implementation of reconstruction plans and the return of displaced persons and support economic development and the fight against corruption, was held in Baghdad (Wednesday evening)





Attitude of demonstrations
The Presidency added that "the meeting unanimously decided that the peaceful demonstrations demanding rights and the provision of services guaranteed by the Constitution to citizens who claim legitimate rights to provide services and employment opportunities and improve the living and service situation," explaining that the participants confirmed "their support for the government to take measures and decisions that ensure the demands of protesters, At the same time, emphasis was placed on respecting the law, maintaining security, preventing riots and vandalism, preserving public and private property, and supporting security forces' procedures to address aggressors and engineers seeking to exploit the demonstrations.


Constitutional Timings

The Presidency said that the meeting confirmed "full and firm commitment to the Constitution and decisions of the Federal Court," noting that "all political entities and parliamentary blocs gathered to accept the final results of the elections of the House of Representatives for its fourth session, which took place on 12/5/2018, Federal Court with the call to expedite the completion of counting and sorting.




"The meeting decided that" the commitment of all parliamentary blocs to respect the timing of the constitutional date of the next parliamentary session to ensure the election of the Presidency of the Council of Representatives, the election of the President in preparation for the commissioning of the candidate of the largest bloc to form a government during the period provided for
 Constitution ".
The meeting stressed "working to achieve constructive understandings between all blocs to expedite the completion of the current high national tasks and to approve the basic directions of the next government program and all the requirements of the next phase guaranteeing the development of the state administration and its institutions and the rights of the people and their will to protect the foundations and foundations of the federal democratic system."


Maliki's statement
For his part, revealed the Vice President of the President of the coalition of state law Nuri al-Maliki, the most prominent points discussed by the leaders of the political blocs in the house of President Masum.

He added that "the second point that was discussed are the demands of the demonstrators in the provinces of the center and the south, which was agreed to be legitimate demands," noting that "the meeting stressed the need to protect state institutions and prevent infiltrators to demonstrations of burning official institutions and parties' That "the last point that was discussed during the meeting is to emphasize the need to work on the programs of the political blocs to start dealing with all things that are stalled, including the demands that need to take into account and the state's situation and structure to meet them."


Accept election results
To this, the adviser to President Shirwan al-Waeli, the need to accept all the political blocs the results of the parliamentary elections that took place on May 12 last, while pointed to the right of citizens to demonstrate and the importance of preserving their peaceful.
