Newspaper: Abadi is in the process of referring the files of 50 senior officials to integrity

Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi is in the process of referring the files of 50 senior officials to the Integrity Commission, while Al-Abbadi said that the officials referred to integrity range from ministers, deputy ministers and general managers.

The newspaper quoted a political source as saying that "Prime Minister Haider Abadi, is referring files of 50 senior officials to the Integrity Commission to investigate suspicions of corruption and mismanagement," noting that "observers of the situation in Iraq reduced the ability to hold the corrupt."


For his part, the head of the Center for Political Thought Ihsan al-Shammari, who is close to Abadi, said that "the planned actions may take longer because of the nature of files uploaded and the required audit and review."

Al-Shammari added that "the officials referred to integrity range from ministers, deputy ministers and general managers in various state institutions."

Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said on July 31, 2018, that the government is in the process of publishing the names of officials referred to the Integrity Commission on charges of corruption.
