Central Bank strengthens its reserves of gold

The central bank announced Wednesday that it had boosted its gold reserves by 6.5 tonnes to 96 tonnes.
The bank said in a statement received by Alsumaria News that it "strengthened its reserves of gold by 6.5 tons to become a total balance of gold 96 tons."
"The purchase comes within the framework of the Bank's reserves management policy in diversification of investment assets," the central bank said.
An authorized source at the Central Bank of Iraq said that "the bank has invested in the fall of precious metal prices to carry out the purchase of the additional quantity, which was carried out in cooperation with the French Central Bank."
The World Gold Council, announced last August that the occupation of Iraq ranked fifth in the Arab world and 37 world's highest gold reserves of gold.
