The talk of the initiative coincides with a visit by the UN envoy to Iraq, Jan Kubic, to Tehran, since yesterday evening, to meet with Iranian officials and discuss the formation of the Iraqi government, in a move considered by Iraqi politicians of a previous kind.
According to the agency "Arna" Iran, the special aide to the President of the Islamic Shura Council Hussein Amir Abdullahian received Kubic in Tehran, and discussed the formation of the Iraqi government.
"We hope that the Iraqi parliament and the leaders of this country will reach an agreement on the new government, which will contribute to enhancing security and stability in Iraq," the UN envoy said.
For his part, Abdellahian rejected the moves of some countries in the region in the new developments in Iraq, stressing that "Saudi Arabia must respect the opinion of the Iraqi people and his point of view and be a constructive neighbor of the Iraqi people."
