The Reform and Reconstruction Coalition said on Thursday it intended to gather signatures for a number of members of the House of Representatives to pass a law banning the travel of all former government figures.
"A large number of members of the reform and other political blocs intend to submit a proposal for the presidency of the parliament by passing a law that prevents ministers and directors-general agents from traveling abroad until the completion of their financial liabilities," said a member of the coalition Ayman al-Shammari. The law will be presented during the next session. "
He added that "the adoption of the law to prevent the travel of all former government figures will facilitate the accounting of corrupt before fleeing outside the country," noting that "the House of Representatives will work to account for the defaulters during the coming period before the end of their ministerial work."
