An interesting debate over the downsizing of the vice-presidents and a parliamentary memorandum facing a "great rejection"

BAGHDAD, Iraq -
The parliamentary blocs in Iraq to discuss the amendment of the law of the Vice-President of the Republic in preparation for reducing the number to only one deputy.
Since 2008, the President of the Republic of Iraq has 3 deputies according to the law of the Presidency of the Republic, divided between Shiites and Sunnis, while President Kordia.
A member of the reform bloc in the federal parliament MP Abbas Aliawi for life that «the parliamentary campaign is continuing from the majority of the blocks to amend the special paragraph of the law of the Presidency of the Republic on the number of Vice-Presidents and reduce the number from three to one».
He pointed out that «this trend is in line with the desire of everyone in the trimming of state institutions, which also included the abolition of positions of new deputy prime minister».
However, the MP for the bloc «Saroun» Rami Sakini, ruled out the acceptance of some of this legal amendment, and pointed out that «it is difficult at the present time to reduce the number of Vice-President of the Republic to one deputy», stressing that «the parliamentary memorandum will face considerable rejection by some, but Parliament is determined to amend this law ».
Earlier, media and social networking sites published information on the agreement to nominate the leader of the «coalition of state law» Nuri al-Maliki to the post of new Vice President Barham Saleh.
However, MP from the coalition «State of Law» Saad Almtalibi confirmed that «the news that spoke about Maliki's nomination to the post of Vice-President is inaccurate».
He explained that «until this moment did not submit any candidate for any position».
