Parliament votes to reduce parliamentary committees to 22 committees

A parliamentary source said on Saturday that the House of Representatives voted to reduce parliamentary committees to 22 committees instead of 27.
The source said in an interview with Alsumaria News, "The House of Representatives decided to reduce the number of committees from 27 to 21 through the integration of culture and information, tourism and relics, and was also integrated with members of civil society, human rights with martyrs and prisoners, and work and social affairs with the displaced" .
"The parliament added a new committee, Transport and Communications," the source said, adding that "the council voted to amend the rules of procedure by making the minimum 21".
"With these changes, the number of committees has been reduced from 27 to 21, adding a new one to be a total of 22 parliamentary committees."

The House of Representatives voted on Saturday for parliamentary speaker Lanaa to 22 committees, while authorized the Presidency of the transfer of members of the committees.
A parliamentary source said in an interview for Alsumaria News, "The House of Representatives voted to authorize the Presidency of the transfer of members in the parliamentary committees."
"The council voted on the planning committees, studying the government program, higher education, labor, social affairs, agriculture, irrigation, services, reconstruction, transport and communications," he said. "The council voted on the committees of integrity, clans, reconciliation and religious affairs."
He pointed out that the council "voted on the committees of finance, oil and gas, education, economy, investment, martyrs, human rights, regions, governorates, foreign relations and women."
On Saturday, the House of Representatives held its regular session and voted to reduce the parliamentary committees to 22 committees.
