The Rusafa Court announced on Thursday the immediate investigation into the sinking of seven billion dinars in Rafidain Bank.
The official state television reported that "the Rusafa Court began to investigate the subject of sinking 7 billion dinars, and take legal action against those who wasted the money of the Central Bank."
The governor of the Central Bank Ali Alalak made statements during a meeting in Parliament on Monday (November 12, 2018) in which he said that the amount of 7 billion Iraqi dinars were damaged by 100 percent, due to leakage of rainwater to the coffers of Rafidain Bank.
The statements made by Al-Aalak sparked a wide debate among the various Iraqi circles, prompting some to launch campaigns on social networking sites to protest against the issue.
