Iraq calls for the United States to activate the strategic cooperation agreement

Called by President Jalal Talabani and Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on Monday to activate the strategic cooperation agreement between Iraq and the United States, at a time when he met House Speaker Osama Najafi and Deputy Prime Minister Ruz Nuri Shawis separately the U.S. special envoy for Iraq.

During the meeting, President Talabani stressed the need to strengthen the friendly relations between the Republic of Iraq and the United States.

President also noted the importance of expanding and strengthening relations of cooperation through the strategic cooperation agreement signed between the two countries, for the benefit of the two friendly peoples.
