Foreign Minister: Foreign ministers of important countries will visit Iraq this month

Foreign Minister Mohammad Ali al-Hakim said on Wednesday that his ministry will take over with the Foreign Relations Committee to rename ambassadors away from party pressure.
"There are requests for changes in the lists of candidates to receive the mission of ambassador, and the Foreign Relations Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be renamed ambassadors and will be through a special committee and away from patronage or party pressure," Hakim said in a dialogue session with a number of media. "We will have a role in implementing the outcomes of the Kuwait donors conference. It will form a committee related to donor countries and then investment operations will be implemented," he said. He pointed out that "President Barham Salih will visit Turkey tomorrow as our member, and the visit will continue for one day."
"We will have a common focus on security and the situation in Syria," he said. "We have a common border with Syria and its security and the opening of trade routes is our highest priority."
He pointed out that "Iraq supports the return of Syria to the Arab League, as he wants to restore security and the end of the conflict."
He pointed out that "Iraq is seeking to conduct cooperation with the Gulf Cooperation Council," stressing: "We will be keen to improve our relationship with the Gulf countries."
The Foreign Minister revealed that his US counterpart Mike Pomio and an important head of state, and the foreign ministers of France and Iran will visit Iraq this month.
On the Arab Economic Summit in Beirut, Hakim pointed out that "Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi or President Barham Saleh will head the Iraqi delegation at the summit to be held in the last week of this month."
