Parliament holds its meeting tomorrow in the absence of completion of the ministerial cabin

Lawmakers: "One basket" will decide the completion of the government lineup

Parliamentarians are likely to vote on the candidates of the three ministries «Interior, Defense and Justice» one basket, and while they pointed out that the vote will be secret after the agreement on the names of candidates, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan confirmed its adherence to the Ministry of Justice as an electoral benefit.

Replace candidates
MP Emmanuel Khoshaba expressed his hope to vote on the candidates of the three remaining ministries of the government formation in the session on Thursday or next week, so that the Prime Minister to start his program and the Parliament to start his legislative work, especially that he has many of the laws to be legislated and the first general budget for 2019.
Khoshaba said in an interview with Al-Sabah that the parliamentary blocs intend to complete the government formation by voting on the candidates of the three ministries with one basket to be passed in the event of the approval of the members of the parliament or the replacement of the candidates as a whole and the coming of two other candidates.
For his part, MP Khaled al-Jeshmi said there was a problem in voting for the candidate of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Shaima Al-Hayali after 50 deputies objected to not getting the required majority.
Al-Geshmi said that the Speaker of the House of Representatives did not take the written request submitted by the deputies. He pointed out that the deputies are still following the request to re-count the videotape of the session, or re-vote on the candidate again or any action that may be taken by the Presidency of the Council .
He added that the deputies waiting for the prime minister in the ministries of interior, defense and justice, and that Abdul Mahdi has not yet nominated a substitute for the candidate of the candidate Faisal al-Jarba, while still insisting on the candidate of the Interior.
He pointed out that the construction bloc is in dialogue with the Prime Minister to change the candidate of the Ministry of the Interior without reaching a final agreement so far, expected to complete the formation in the next week.
In his turn, MP Abbas Sarut believes that the solution to complete the government formation with the Prime Minister and not others.
"We are confident that the prime minister is moving in the right direction after sending biographies to the House of Representatives and asking them to vote on the candidates nominated for those ministries," Sarot said in an interview with Al-Sabah.

Secret vote

Candidates for the defense bag
On a related note, blocks in the Coalition for Reform and Reconstruction nominated a new name for the post of Minister of Defense.
The heads of six parliamentary blocs affiliated with the reform alliance to support the nomination of (Muhannad Hossam al-Din al-Bayati) to take over the defense portfolio for his competence and professionalism in addition to his administrative and field experience in the security file, and is a national figure politically independent. According to a statement of the coalition, which came out of a meeting of its political body headed by Ammar al-Hakim several points are:
1 - Call for the Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi to dismiss ministers who have registered legal indicators.
2 - Emphasize the observance of the rules of procedure of the House of Representatives and the need to review the voting mechanism that was on the Ministers of Defense and Education as they are contrary to the rules of procedure of the House of Representatives, and to initiate a lawsuit before the Federal Court to challenge the mechanism of voting contrary to the system.
3 - Refusing sectarian distribution in the presidency of the parliamentary committees and considered a threat to the national project and the need to be based on the distribution based on balance between parliamentary alliances.
In the same context, confirmed the Rapporteur of the Parliament Khadija Ali, in a press statement, that «the political blocs submitted more than 10 candidates for the post of Minister of Defense, despite the submission of a group of names previously», indicating that «blocs and despite the submission of candidates, but did not agree.
