The 104th session of the Arab Economic and Social Council / Social Committee of the Economic and Social Council at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo for the period 1-5 / 9-2019, chaired by Iraq to discuss several files, including youth empowerment Arabi.


A statement of the Ministry of Commerce, received (Euphrates News) a copy of it that "the events were chaired by the Director General of the Department of Foreign Economic Relations and the delegation of the Republic of Iraq Adel Khudair Al-Masoudi and discuss a number of topics that are a priority for joint Arab social development."

 He added that "the top of the agenda is the preparation of the social file for the next Arab summit in March 2020, in addition to following up the implementation of the resolutions of the Arab Development Summit and presenting the results of this important summit to the World Summit on Sustainable Development scheduled to be held on 24 and 25 September 2019 in New York."

 "The agenda also includes the follow-up to the implementation of the decisions of the 103rd session, a project for the protection of women in the informal sector, an initiative to empower unemployed youth under the social protection offered by the Republic of Sudan, Arab and international cooperation in social and developmental areas, and the draft Arab strategy for economic and social empowerment of women in rural areas," he said.



The Statute of the Arab Council for Population and Development in the light of its completion of all required procedures, and as the Arab mechanism concerned with the situation of population in the Arab countries.



 The meetings will witness the Arab Parliament's review of the child, which was inaugurated in Sharjah, an initiative to empower unemployed youth under social protection, as well as Arab international cooperation in the social and developmental fields, and the Arab strategy for the economic and social empowerment of women in rural areas.

 She explained that the committee is expected to issue recommendations for draft resolutions to be submitted to the Council at the level of senior officials and ministerial level, to issue the necessary decisions and reflect positively on the lives of Arab citizens.

 It is hoped that Iraqi Trade Minister Mohammed Hashem Al-Ani will lead the delegation of the Republic of Iraq at the ministerial meeting of the Economic and Social Council on Thursday 5/9/2019.
