Alsumaria News publishes a document signed on behalf of the Chairman of the Parliamentary Economy and Investment Committee, Ahmed Salim Al-Kenani.

The document considered the parliament's decision on supporting the local product has a great impact in encouraging Iraqis to persevere and hard work and build new projects and the protection of hard currency and the employment of thousands of Iraqi labor.

The document also did not support the partial opening of the import of eggs and poultry, stressing the imminent submission of a comprehensive study of the reality of the sectors covered by the Council's decision to protect taking into account the views of the private sector and executive bodies and the opinion of the Parliamentary Economy and Investment Committee.

Parliament voted on May 5, 2019 on a resolution to protect the national product and prevent the import of poultry, eggs and fish.

A statement of the poultry sector in Iraq, (June 24, 2019) warned that members of parliament seek to change the Council's decision to protect the national product.
