Barham Saleh calls for a reshuffle in the current government

(Independent)… Iraqi President, Barham Salih, announced that he directed the opening of an urgent investigation into the attacks on the protesters who took part in mass demonstrations in Iraq since the first of October. He also called for a ministerial reshuffle to improve the government's performance in order to achieve a qualitative leap in its work.

The press office of Saleh, in a statement, according to the Iraqi News Agency continued (independent) on Wednesday that the Iraqi President stressed, after meeting with a number of conservatives, the importance of protecting peaceful protesters and the protection of public security and prevent more bloodshed.

He also stressed the need for an urgent investigation into the attacks that accompanied the demonstrations. He pointed to the need to address any attack on security forces and public property, adding that the Presidency will support compensation for those affected and work to hold accountable criminals and outlaws who shot demonstrators.
