The Presidents of the Republic and the Kurdistan Region stress the importance of implementing the budget provisions

Shafaq News / The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, and the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, stressed today, Saturday, the importance of implementing the provisions of the federal financial budget.

This came in a meeting between the two sides at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, according to a statement issued by the Iraqi presidency and received by Shafaq News.

During the meeting, the overall political, security and economic developments in Iraq, the Kurdistan Region and the region were discussed, and the need for convergence and dialogue between all parties was emphasized in order to support stability, ensure the security of citizens and meet their daily needs, according to the statement.

The meeting also stressed the importance of implementing the budget’s provisions in a way that ensures the citizens ’needs are secured, and that its approval is a good step towards resolving all outstanding issues between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government in accordance with the constitution and in a manner that preserves the rights of all citizens and keeps them away from political disputes.

The statement stated that the meeting also dealt with the upcoming parliamentary elections, as it was stressed the need to create appropriate conditions for their conduct in a manner that guarantees their integrity and fairness and reflects the will of the voters to choose their representatives away from fraud, and to move towards overcoming difficulties and establishing security and stability.

Meanwhile, a statement issued by the Presidency of the Region stated that Saleh and Barzani discussed the Iraqi political situation, the latest political developments, and the holding of early elections for the Iraqi Parliament.

The statement indicated that the two sides stressed "the need to secure the ground for conducting fair and transparent elections that express the true will of the voters in order to overcome the current crises and disagreements and ensure stability and safety in the future."



They also discussed the importance of passing the general Iraqi budget project for the year 2021 and fixing the region’s share in it, and emphasizing that the budget should contribute to providing the well-being of citizens and solving the problems of living and salaries, pointing out that this is a starting point for constructive dialogues to solve all problems between the federal government and the regional government. The basis of the constitution.

The statement pointed out that in another axis of the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments and changes in the region in general, and in this regard, emphasis was placed on unifying forces and capabilities and bringing together the views of different forces and parties in order to overcome threats and dangers.
