Maliki: the launch of a fifth round of licenses to gas investment, which was neglected
[ltr]BAGHDAD / obelisk: Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on Tuesday that the priorities of energy policy in Iraq is a concern with gas being a national treasure and fuel clean, environmentally friendly and a source increasingly important role in the generation of electricity and the establishment of industries strategy for Iraq Kalptrrukemaoyat and fertilizers in addition to providing added value through export to global markets, stressing the launch of a fifth round of licenses to invest in the gas sector, which was neglected for many years.[/ltr]
[ltr]This came during a speech at the second forum of gas exporting countries held in the Russian capital.[/ltr]
[ltr]Maliki said in a statement obtained by "obelisk", a copy of "The Government of Iraq has begun implementation of the program is broad and ambitious to develop the oil and gas sector in Iraq and opened the doors of cooperation with major international companies and we have taken all measures to stop gas flaring to maximize the benefit from it, has resulted from the implementation of this program during the two years (2011, 2012) a significant increase in proven oil reserves of more than 150 billion barrels of oil, accompanied by a significant increase in gas reserves due to exploration and development in the whole of Iraq led to the doubling up of the past. [ltr]He added that "the Iraqi government is moving toward maximizing gas reserves in Iraq in general and free gas, especially through the exploration of areas with possibilities promising," referring to "launch licensing round fifth this year targeting gas exploration in different parts of Iraq, according to the conditions and arrangements conducive to investors."[/ltr]
[ltr]The shape of Iraq's first attendance at a forum of gas exporting countries welcomed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and the participating countries, which hailed the strategic directions for the Iraqi government to invest in the gas sector, which was neglected for many years.[/ltr]
[ltr]It should be noted that the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries includes along with Russia both Iran and Qatar, Algeria, Libya, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Nigeria, Venezuela and Bolivia, Equatorial Guinea and Trinidad and Tobago. Iraq has, Norway, the Netherlands and Kazakhstan observer status in this international organization.[/ltr]
