House of Representatives vote on a resolution to hold elections no later than April 30 of next year

House of Representatives voted in its twenty-sixth session, which was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Osama Najafi, head of the House of Representatives and in the presence of 222 deputy Today Monday, 10.07.2013 a resolution to hold elections in the House of Representatives scheduled a constitutional, not to exceed 30 April of next year.


At the beginning of the meeting initiated by any of the above-Hakim said Mr. Najafi not to postpone the election date being the date constitutionally fixed and will not be overtaking on the deadline requested by the Electoral Commission.

Mr. President of the Council that the political blocs failed to reach agreement on a proposed election law will be voting on a resolution includes giving the Commission the power to start preparations for the elections and determine the timeframe for completion of the negotiations to reach an agreed law.

The Council voted on the basis of the provisions of the second paragraph of Article 59 of the Constitution, a resolution to that conduct parliamentary elections as scheduled constitutionally but not exceeding scheduled constitutionally but not exceeding 04.30.2013, noting that the Commission to take technical measures necessary to hold the elections on schedule, including the voter registration update .

The resolution called on the government to exchange budget for the Commission to meet its needs for the elections to be deducted from the budget allocated to it, pointing out that in the case not to vote on the proposed law on elections no later than 10.30.2013 commit the Council to begin proceedings legislature to amend the election law No. 16 as amended and in accordance with the decisions Federal Court.

Then decided to adjourn the meeting to next Tuesday 22/10/2013.
