***** Cabinet gives "financial" and "central bank" powers of debt repayment

Granting of the Council of Ministers, on Tuesday, the authority and the authorization of the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Iraq, pay Court of Iraq to Jordan, and in a number of decisions and private loans.

The statement stressed "authorize the Minister of Finance and the Governor of the Central Bank the authority to negotiate and settle the debts of Jordan to Iraq and money by the Jordanian government to act without reference to the Iraqi government."

Was also "authorize the Minister of Finance, the authority to negotiate with the Egyptian Ministry of Finance on the Egyptian debt settlement on Iraq, according to the Paris Club agreement to offer a settlement to the Cabinet," according to the statement.

He referred to "modify the amount contained in the Council of Ministers Resolution 414 for the year 2013 of 4 trillion to 4,727,933, and the amount of adjustment (3) trillion to 3,727,933.

The statement also that the Ministry of Finance "Credit and Ministry of Electricity amount of 800 billion dinars, deducted from the Ministry's budget for the year 2014, for the purpose of reimbursement local fuel and additives to fuel, maintenance stations, production, transmission and distribution networks."

Those decisions came after the Council of Ministers held its fourth regular session in Baghdad on Tuesday, October 22 under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki.

Tuesday authorized the Iraqi government and the Minister of Finance and the Governor of the Central Bank to negotiate and settle the debts of Jordan and Egypt to Iraq, according to the Paris Club agreement.
