Suhail calls on World Bank to support economic reform in Iraq

Search First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Qusay al-Suhail, on Thursday, the development of the banking sector and banking systems in Iraq and the development of its human with a delegation from the World Bank.

According to the statement, al-Suhail stressed "the importance of the continuation of the institutions of the World Bank's contribution in the efforts by the state for economic reform", expressed the readiness of Parliament for "providing any support contributes to the success of the World Bank steps in Iraq."

The Iraqi Finance Ministry announced on Thursday it had agreed with the World Bank to train cadres and rehabilitation of banks, stressing that the Convention will enter into force in the coming year of 2014.
The central bank governor Abdul Basit Turki confirmed, on Wednesday (November 27, 2014), that Iraq needs to change the mechanisms of action and that the bank move forward in this area, noting that the challenges facing the banking business in Iraq can be overcome.
