The Minister of Planning / the acting Minister of Finance visited Al-Wazeeriya and Sheikh Omar banks belonging to the Al-Rafidain Bank and instructs to expedite the application of modern electronic systems in the banking business

The Minister of Planning / the acting Minister of Finance, Prof. Dr. Ali Yousef Shukri, continued his tours inspection of bank branches as part of his quest for the advancement of the banking business in Iraq by addressing the difficulties and obstacles faced by these banks and make it be compatible and identifies with the great development witnessed by the world in this field.

Break the routine and move cells creativity

The minister has paid an inspection visit to sub Rafidain Bank branch Waziriya (341) and new Sheikh Omar 41 during which he briefed on the reality of the work in sections where he listened first to a detailed explanation of this fact by the Director of Branch Waziriya, Mrs. Leila Abd Ali. The Minister explained to comment saying that it came as part of the movement, citing rotate branch managers. Said the move to break the routine and move cells with the creativity of directors and contribute to solving the problems that have become part of the daily routine. The Minister explained that we have in Iraq about 340 branches, including (162) branches of Rasheed Bank and (175) branch of the Rafidain Bank and at the same time we are seeking to expand by increasing the number of these branches based on the principle that says that the strength of the economy depends on the strength of the gravity of the banking sector. However, he noted that in such large numbers perhaps there are a few bad and therefore, this image is reflected on everyone. We have taken this step to rotate managers.

Greater annual profits

Pointing out that the reports alone are not enough to have do not reflect reality as it should be for the work of banks. We have found that these reports did not solve the problems experienced by these banks as these reports confirm that banks are always in good condition in line with the latest developments and regulations in the developed world and in this area. So, we found it necessary to visit these banks to stand on their need. Today we have discovered during this visit that Sheikh Omar branch of the Rafidain Bank is a room on the roof on the second floor, which requires references to rise by a metal ladder and this picture not fit with the situation that we are trying to be Iraqi banks do.

Find an alternative place and quickly

The Minister ordered to general manager of Al- Rafidain Bank, and nearly directly to rent a new building for this vital branch in another place. Consequently, these field visits cringe a lot of problems and difficulties and make it open to the minister the problems suffered by the employee , particularly in the banks and there are a lot of dilemmas and the result of these visits offer a lot of support to branch managers and bank officers.

The manager of Sheikh Omar, Ms. Muntaha Abdul Mohsen Habib, stated the problems branch pointing out that our suffering began in 2006 after he left the place of the original branch in Sheikh Omar Street, because of the security conditions in that period and did not find a suitable building, which we had to have to be in the same building branch Waziriya on the second floor. We do not have any services. Our customer are few, because most of our customers who are traders in Sheikh Omar Street. There are (35) employees in the branch. Expressing thanks and appreciation to the Minister to visit the branch and his quest to solve all the problems that we face at work.
