The Foreign Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al -Hamad Al-Sabah , said that this session is a continuation of the positive steps continuing in enhancing communication and coordination , consultation and exchange of visits at all levels between the two countries in order to achieve full political aspirations of both countries and hopes the two brotherly peoples .

He added that the meeting of the third session of the Ministerial Committee of the Joint Supreme comes to complement the findings of the countries of the achievements and stations articulated came out with Iraq from Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations under Security Council Resolution 2107 « which would not have been possible without the keen political leaderships of the two brotherly countries » .

He welcomed Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid , Iraq's decision to approve the re- opening of the consulate in Basra, Kuwait and the opening of a new consulate in Arbil to Kuwait , noting that the move represents the start of another diplomatic added to what has been achieved so far in the achievements of Kuwait brotherly relationship with Iraq .

For his part, Zebari said this session comes « the culmination of the work of professional and professionally meaningful in order to resolve all outstanding issues between the two countries » stressing to reach positive results in « address the issues more difficult and more complex » in relations , Iraq - Kuwait , which was governed by international resolutions of the Security Council.

He added that this session discussed the issues of security cooperation and political and diplomatic coordination between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries and consultation on issues of the region and the province , noting that Baghdad will host the next year, the fourth session of the Joint Higher Committee of Ministers of the two countries .

He said Zebari , the two teams that reached during the session to the results of « good and positive » , adding that the two countries will discuss in the future « promote trade and economic cooperation on double taxation and joint oil fields between the two countries » .
