A parliamentary committee: the government will review the procedures of customs tariff

Amid claims and calls from dealers and carriers to the Ministry of Finance to freeze the decision to raise customs tariffs because of conditions in Iraq exceptional until trading with the private and public sectors to ensure the smooth flow of goods to markets and prevent the rise in commodity prices, said the committee economy parliamentary to modify the application of the law does not mean to stop work or freezing procedures stipulated.
Said Rep. Nora Albejara for "future" yesterday that the Parliamentary Committee and in coordination with the Council of Ministers pushed to amend the decision last on the implementation of the customs tariff and apply it in stages so as not to include decision-food, construction, clothing, agricultural supplies and materials related to domestic industries.
According to the government Albejara binding obligations to protect the Iraqi economy and the consumer and support the agricultural sector and the industrial to encourage local product, and added that the work of customs tariff would limit the entry of goods of poor origin and will contribute to support the introduction of orientation Iraq within the World Trade Organization.
