01/22/2014 11:54

Tomorrow's Press / Baghdad: likely decision of Parliament Muhammad Khalidi, Wednesday, returns the current year budget to the Cabinet in 2014 because of the many problems on them, especially with regard to the objections of deputies of the Kurdistan region, ruling out approval at this time.

Khalidi said for "tomorrow's Press," "We rule out the adoption of the federal budget for the year 2014 at the present time, because of the many problems in them," calling for "the need for approval by the agreement."

He guessed Khalidi "re-balancing of the government to make some adjustments, particularly with regard to the problems of Iraqi Kurdistan with the central government," noting that "the solution to the problems between the province and the government will make it easier to pass the budget."

He pointed to the decision of the parliament that "there is another problem facing the budget, an issue that share oil-producing provinces five dollars while the government has allocated one dollar for these provinces."

Some MPs from different political blocs and the governor of Basra and Kirkuk governor also called for the return of the federal budget to the government to amend some of its clauses, notably the proportion of petrodollars and the problems of the Kurdistan region's oil.

The Council of Ministers approved last week a draft federal budget for 2014 amid objections from the Minister of the Kurds because of lack of consensus on some key points concerning the export of oil from Iraq's Kurdistan.
