BAGHDAD / Center Brief for the Iraqi Media Network (IMN) - confirmed to the parliamentary Committee of Economy, on Thursday, the difficulty of approving a bill to exempt foreign companies and Iraqi tax transmitted by the Council of Ministers because of incompatibility with the terms of the federal budget for the current year.
A member of the Committee Qusay F's (IMN) said that "the terms of the federal budget for the current year has focused on the development of sources of a second alternative for oil to support budgeting federal taxation and customs, but the problem of the law lies in that it exempted foreign companies and local tax payment in full."
He said Friday that "there is a desire from within the Commission for the economy not passed this way," he said, adding that "the bill is the last of the Committee, which discussed in the current parliamentary session."
The enactment of this law by the government to support foreign and local investors to set up large projects in Iraq with giving them additional facilities.
