Twilight News / warned UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon Thursday from the effects he described as "devastating and permanent" to the challenges of political and security stability in Iraq over the long term unless it is addressed soon.

The secretary-general said in his report to the Security Council, seen by "Twilight News", that "these challenges require that meets all political and religious leaders and civil society in their responsibilities to overcome the current crisis in a uniform manner."

He stressed saying that the establishment of a national dialogue between the political forces came to be more urgent than ever.

Iraq is facing since the beginning of this year, the biggest security challenge in the country's western Anbar province and nearby provinces, where gunmen overran opponents of the government, including trace elements approach Qaeda towns and cities, and extended their influence on a number of them.

The spin since that time fierce battles that left thousands dead and wounded, mostly civilians, who fled to the hundreds of thousands of them outside the province, fearing for their lives.

And Iraqi forces regained control of the majority of the province with the exception of parts of Fallujah, which is encircled by the army and the militants holed up.

These developments came to a record surge in violence after recording the highest level last year since 2008, with the killing of about 8 thousand people.

The violence coincided with a deepening sectarian and political divisions, where opponents accuse the prime minister and even his partners in the National Alliance of trying to move the country toward dictatorship. Maliki denies that and says he is proceeding according to the laws in force.

And on Iraq's relations with neighboring countries, said the Secretary-General of the United Nations that he was satisfied with the continuous improvement in the relations between Iraq and Kuwait.

He expressed the hope that this "positive development" to strengthen relations between Iraq and its other neighbors in the interest of stability in the region.

Iraq had concluded agreements with Kuwait on reparations and the demarcation of the border and the organization of maritime navigation and other things that have remained unresolved since the invasion of Saddam Hussein's regime of Kuwait in 1990.

These agreements have helped in removing Iraq from Chapter VII of the UN Security Council.
