Khalid al-Alwani rules out delaying announcement of the next government

BAGHDAD - The MP, of Muttahidoon coalition, Khalid al-Alwani ruled out delaying announcement of the next government after the ratification of the Federal Supreme Court on the election results.

Alwani said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency: "The current period experienced by the country does not bear to prolong the time period of the caretaker government, and the winning political blocs will seek to compatibility in order to form a government as soon as possible."

He added: "The majority of the political blocs agreed on most of the basic themes for the coming period and this will help, after the ratification of the results, in the meeting of the new parliament and start work in accordance with the law and the Constitution."

Vice President of the Board of Commissioners of the Electoral Commission, Kata al-Zobaie guessed the Federal Supreme Court will authenticate the names of the winners in the elections middle of this month.
