Welcomed the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon, on Friday, the Council of the United Nations Compensation Fund Management's decision to support Iraq's request to postpone the payment of its obligations to deposit 5% of its oil revenues in the Compensation Fund until January 2016, and as expressed solidarity with the Government and the people of Iraq who are facing crises security sharp and humane, encouraged the international community to expand their cooperation and support over Iraq at this critical time.

He said Ban Ki-moon said in a statement received (long-Presse) a copy of it, that he "welcomes the Council of the United Nations Fund for compensation decision to support the request made by the Iraqi government to postpone the payment of Iraq's obligations to deposit 5% of its oil revenues in the Compensation Fund until January 2016.

He stressed Ban Ki-moon in his "strong solidarity with the Government and people of Iraq who are facing at the moment, security and severe humanitarian crisis."

He encouraged Ki-moon, "the international community, including the countries of the region to continue to increase the prospects of cooperation with Iraq and support at this difficult time," and expressed "gratitude to the Government of the State of Kuwait for its support of accepting the request of the Iraqi government."
