A delegation from the Commission on oil and gas in the Iraqi parliament to Arbil on Wednesday and held talks with officials at the Ministry of Natural Resources Government of the Region in order to see the position of the crisis deepening between Arbil and Baghdad, with regard to various matters relating to oil (export and its derivatives and its contracts).

The delegation is expected to finalize its mission today (Thursday) mentioned in the ministry before returning to Baghdad to meet with officials of the Iraqi Oil Ministry, and then prepare a comprehensive report to the overall differences and the solutions proposed by the Committee to resolve that dispute.

Dr. Bayazid Hassan member of the Commission on oil and gas, the Iraqi parliament in a statement to the «Middle East»: «The Parliamentary Committee resolved some time ago to do the efforts of mediation between Arbil and Baghdad to resolve differences of oil after it has evolved towards more escalation on both sides, and it was decided to send a delegation from the Commission to Arbil to meet with officials of the Ministry of Natural Resources Government of the region to see its position on that issue, particularly with regard to contracts of oil which was signed by the ministry and the government with foreign companies, as well as the export of crude oil to the outside, and the problem of petroleum products that claim to the Government of the region that the Iraqi government lowered to the lowest rates, and yesterday we discussed with the Ministry of natural resources, the issue of petroleum products that claim to the Iraqi government that it continues processing the Kurdish, but officials in the ministry assured us that the quantities reduced to a large extent, and that the quantities sent does not meet the needs of citizens and government institutions, prompting them to export quantities of oil in order to obtain derivatives to cover the local need, and we listened to their views and comments on the overall operation of oil, we will return to Baghdad within the next couple of days and we will try meeting with officials of the Ministry of Oil to monitor their positions also we will prepare a full report the results of our talks with the parties to submit it to the presidency of the parliament in order to activate the role of the Iraqi parliament in finding solutions to this crisis deepening ».


Asked if seen by the Parliamentary Committee on the oil contracts concluded by the Government of the Territory with foreign companies, said a member of the delegation «We have not seen any contract entered into in this regard and is expected to devote our meeting tomorrow (Thursday) to consider these contracts, except for what was published in the Internet Several months ago we received the ministry did not detail whether any oil contracts concluded by the participation in or on the basis of quotas for the producing companies ».
