Saudi Arabia denies its intention to cancel the previous debts incurred by Iraq
RIYADH, March 31 (Reuters) - The Saudi foreign ministry denied Riyadh's intention to cancel the debts owed to Iraq.
Saudi Arabia's position came after the Foreign Ministry announced on the lips of Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir his country's intention to cancel its previous debts incurred by Iraq.
Saudi Arabia's debt to Iraq is estimated at 30 billion dollars.
The Saudi Press Agency quoted an official source at the Saudi Foreign Ministry as denying the news.
He said Riyadh is keen to build the best relations with Iraq and intensify communication between officials of both countries and at the highest levels.
The official highlighted the example of the meeting between King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on the sidelines of the recent Arab summit in Jordan. Finished
