The Ministerial Council for Iraqi National Security discussed the conduct of the battle for the liberation of Mosul within the operations of Ninewa and the approaching of our forces to liberate the western side of the city in full.
This came during a meeting of the Council chaired by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on Sunday.

A statement to the Prime Minister's Office stated that Abadi discussed with the members of the Council the conduct of military operations to liberate the Nineveh provinces from the desecration of the "Da'ash" terrorist gangs within the operations of "Coming Nineveh" and the approach of the security forces to liberate the entire western side of Mosul.

The meeting also discussed ways to develop the capabilities of the security forces at the checkpoints, especially the main points in Baghdad in order to reduce the traffic momentum in addition to strengthening the intelligence effort.

The Ministerial Council for National Security also discussed the training of anti-terrorism forces to combat the terrorist groups in desert areas, while the formation of a committee on the UN Security Council resolution 2341 of 2017 on the protection of vital targets was approved.
