Economic Ministers take important decisions to standardize customs duties

(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) The Ministerial Committee on Economic Affairs has taken important decisions to consolidate customs duties and facilitate the smooth flow of goods in Iraq.
"The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Finance Minister chaired the second session of the meeting of the Committee on Economic Affairs in the presence of ministers (Planning, Trade, Industry and Agriculture) and the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq and the Chairman of the National Investment Authority and economic adviser to the Prime Minister and the representative of the Minister of Oil The Minister of Planning in the Kurdistan Region and the advanced cadre in the Ministry of Finance in the region in addition to the President of the General Ports Authority and the President of the General Authority of Customs and a number of advisers and general managers.
"The Economic Affairs Committee has taken its decision to standardize the customs duties at all border ports, including the ports of the Kurdistan region, as this decision is of great economic importance through the payment of customs duties and a unified tax at all ports. It regulates the smooth flow of goods and commodities and activates trade. And the required ratifications. "
"The committee also decided to abolish the current customs inspection and inspection points in Fayda, Shiraa, north of Kirkuk, Lailan east of Kirkuk, which encourages and develops internal trade and the flow of materials and goods inside Iraq."
"The committee also decided to regulate the trade in gold and precious metals in Iraq, and the Ministry of Transport to work at all border crossings under the law of the Ministry of Transport in force to facilitate the work of its relevant structures."
The Committee also decided, according to the statement, "to oblige all outlets to implement the decisions of the protection of the national product and the commitment to the agricultural calendar in order to promote the local product."
The statement pointed out that "these decisions were taken after a series of meetings and meetings between specialists in the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government."
