In Conjunction With Al-Sadr's Mobilization For A Million, The Framework Calls For Preparing For "Major Demonstrations"
15th August, 2022
The Coordination Framework Demonstrations Committee called, Monday, for preparation and readiness for “major mass demonstrations,” while noting that it “preserves the Iraqis their state.”
In a statement received by Earth News, the committee stated, "To our dear and patient Iraqi people, men and women, young men and women.. You have our sincere appreciation and gratitude for your remarkable public stances in defense of the state and its judicial and legislative institutions, preserving the law and the constitution, and preventing chaos and lawlessness." She added, "We call on you to be highly prepared and fully prepared to launch major mass demonstrations that preserve their state for the Iraqis and achieve their demands to expedite the formation of a national service government with full powers capable of alleviating the suffering that has burdened the Iraqi citizen from the high cost of living, water scarcity, electricity cuts and others."
And the committee added, “The state is your state, and the country is your country, and you are the ones who have suffered and struggled and pushed the dearest martyrs to defend it, and these demonstrations are not for a party, a current or a party, they are the demonstrations of the people who protect the state in order to live in safety, peace, sovereignty and stability, and in order to eliminate unemployment, deprivation and poverty.” And the committee’s statement said, “Do not fail, as you are the sons of the original Iraqi tribes, who do not hesitate to defend their rights and do not allow anyone to confiscate their will, or violate their prestige. And head with a pure Iraqi heart to support your state and your just causes.”
The committee concluded its statement by saying: "The time and place of the upcoming demonstrations will be determined soon, with God's help, by the organizing committee, and our success is only in God, in Him we rely and with Him we seek help."
This call comes in conjunction with the mobilization of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, for "million demonstrations" next Saturday in the center of the capital, Baghdad.
About ten months after the early parliamentary elections in Iraq, the political process is witnessing a blockage, which began with the opposition of the coordinating framework forces to the election results, followed by the suspension of the presidential selection sessions by the framework and some independents, and the failure to form a “majority government” by the leader of the current Sadrist Muqtada al-Sadr, which prompted the Sadrist bloc's deputies to resign from Parliament, before al-Sadr directed his supporters to an open sit-in inside the parliament building in the Green Zone in central Baghdad; In protest against the nomination of Muhammad Shia al-Sudani for prime minister, it was met with an open sit-in by the tire crowd in front of the Green Zone gate from the side of the suspension bridge, in response to al-Sadr's calls to dissolve parliament and re-elections after his demand to change the system and the constitution.
