Integrity reveals programs to protect public money that include 22 goals

Today, Tuesday, the Commission of Integrity revealed programs to protect public money that include 22 goals, while the Al-Nahrain Foundation for Supporting Transparency and Integrity indicated that there is an agreement with the Integrity Commission to combat corruption in Iraq.

The reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said that "the Al-Nahrain Foundation for Transparency and Integrity organized today, a workshop to fight corruption, with the participation of the Integrity Commission, the United Nations development programs and civil society organizations."

The representative of the Anti-bribery Division of the Integrity Commission, Riyad Raad, confirmed to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "civil society organizations have an important role in supporting the Integrity Commission and emphasizing and activating activities in state institutions," noting that "the Commission has programs that it works on according to Transparency International." And international organizations, including transparency programs and the protection of public money, and they include 22 goals, including the goals of e-governance and cooperation with the media to spread a culture of integrity and enhance transparency, in addition to paragraphs that oblige ministries to publish the exact details of contracts, their financial budgets and their spending doors.

He added, "Civil society organizations have an important role through monitoring websites and ministries," noting that "the Integrity Commission is working on the need to implement e-governance in all state institutions, and there is a specialized formation that monitors the extent to which ministries apply e-governance and prepares periodic reports on institutions and monitors them." Periodically, in addition to coordinating with higher authorities, such as the prime minister, the general secretariat, and other bodies, in order to unify work mechanisms to diagnose the joints that need to be electronically converted, and to support and follow them through reports.

In turn, the head of the Al-Nahrain Foundation for Supporting Transparency and Integrity and membership in the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Agreement, Muhammad Rahim Al-Rubaie, confirmed to the Iraqi News Agency (INA). He explained that "Al-Nahrain Foundation has a cooperation agreement with the Integrity Commission within the legal frameworks in accordance with Article 13 of the United Nations Convention against Corruption, and is engaged in workshops in the governorates, targeting specific sectors and within time limits and systematic plans to enhance transparency in important sectors," explaining that "integrity is working on Programs to protect transparency, protect public money and e-governance, and there are other programs implemented by the Planning and Research Department in the Authority regarding the national strategy to combat corruption.

He stated that "this strategy has formed basic and supportive teams in the ministries, and there is a team representing the strategy in each ministry that presents corruption phenomena in its ministry to integrity," noting that "the Al-Nahrain Network has an agreement with the Integrity Commission for a period of three years to determine the phenomena of corruption in the ministries and establish solutions by joint efforts.
