He collected 70 parliamentary signatures to interrogate the Oil Minister on corruption charges
18th August, 2022Member of Parliament Hadi Al-Salami announced, on Thursday, that 70 parliamentary signatures have been collected to interrogate Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar.
Al-Salami said in a Facebook post, followed by Mawazine News, "We collected 70 signatures in order to interrogate the Oil Minister due to rampant corruption in the Ministry of Oil, including oil smuggling.
The statement pointed out that dozens of corruption files against the Oil Minister were referred to the Integrity Commission and he added that the Minister of Oil manages five positions in the current government, which are:
1- Minister of Oil
2- Minister of Finance
3- Chairman of the Ministerial Council for Economy
4- Chairman of the Ministerial Council for Energy
5- President of the National Oil Company
