Baghdad (AIN) -The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki discussed during a phone call he received from the US Secretary of State, John Kerry, the outcomes achieved following resolving the problems between Baghdad and Erbil, as well as discussing the Syrian crisis.

A statement by the Premier's office reported "Maliki received on last Saturday evening, a phone call from the US Secretary of State where they discussed the Iraqi-US bilateral relations and exchanged views about the developments of the Syrian crisis and mean to resolve it in addition to discussing the proposals related to how to deal with the events accompanying the Syrian crisis."

"Kerry stressed that he intends to visit Moscow soon where the visit will center on the situation in Syria," according to the statement.

"The US official congratulated Maliki on his winning in the local elections. Also, they reviewed the pointes resulted from settling the disputes between the central government and Kurdistan Regional government," the statement concluded.
