Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait to report on what was agreed in the Joint Committee with Iraq

BAGHDAD (Iba) / follow up / ... The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid detailed report of the Kuwaiti Council of Ministers in its session today on what has been reached in the meetings of the Joint Committee between Kuwait and Iraq.
The committee shall be the obligations of Iraq about the international resolutions and the land border between the two countries, freedom of navigation in the Khawr Abd Allah, and the missing Iraqis and Kuwaitis and Kuwaiti debt on Iraq and compensation, and the port of Mubarak of Kuwait, in addition to the establishment of fishing area in the Gulf and open a consulate Kuwait in both Basra and Erbil.
The Iraqi technical team that visited Kuwait recently discussed with the Kuwaiti side in the presence of a team of United Nations marks the border between the two countries and the obstacles that specializes in this aspect.
Sources confirmed to the Kuwaiti newspaper that the Iraqi side promised to remove all irregularities that hinder border markers between the two countries, noting that the Kuwaiti side relieved of the Iraqi response in this regard.
She said that these meetings came a complement to the meetings of the Joint Committee, chaired by Kuwaiti Foreign Minister in Baghdad last month, which reached a great understanding about the drafting of border markers between the two countries under the supervision of a specialized team from the United Nations.
The sources pointed out that the two sides will hold meetings at the United Nations during the period related to the upcoming developments in the recent meetings and access to a satisfactory agreement between the two countries. (End)
